{"id":680056,"date":"2026-03-25T05:52:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T05:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/680056\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T05:52:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T05:52:12","slug":"joey-fatone-producing-id-doc-series-on-dark-side-of-boy-bands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/680056\/","title":{"rendered":"Joey Fatone Producing ID Doc Series on Dark Side of Boy Bands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/nsync-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nsync-2_1\" data-tag=\"nsync-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NSYNC<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/joey-fatone-blindsided-justin-timberlake-nsync-depature-1235607944\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joey Fatone<\/a> is serving as executive producer on an upcoming documentary series that will chronicle the dark side of the boy band boom of the 1990s, ID announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBoy Band Confidential is set to premiere on April 13 and 14, and it will feature interviews from the likes of NSYNC\u2019s Lance Bass, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-features\/backstreet-boys-interview-las-vegas-sphere-residency-concerts-1236314396\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Backstreet Boys<\/a>\u2018 AJ McLean, <strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and Boyz\u00a0II Men\u2019s Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, among others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cBeing in a boy band was one of the greatest experiences of my life \u2014 but it also came with challenges we\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0always understand at the time,\u201d Fatone said in a statement of the upcoming series. \u201cThis project gave all of us a chance to reflect, to be honest and to share what really happened behind the spotlight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn a press release, ID said the upcoming series \u201cexposes the secret machinery\u00a0of\u00a0manufactured superstardom\u00a0and\u00a0the devastating human cost of the era\u2019s glossy perfection.\u201d In a statement, ID president Jason\u00a0Sarlanis called Boy Band Confidential \u00a0\u201can honest, unfiltered look at a cultural phenomenon that shaped an entire generation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWith Joey Fatone bringing together a\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0who of artists from the era\u2019s most iconic boy bands, we\u2019re illuminating the pressures, vulnerabilities and surprising realities of life at the height of pop stardom with a level of access rarely achieved in music documentaries,\u201d\u00a0Sarlanis said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBoy Band Confidential comes ahead of ID\u2019s second season of Hollywood Demons.
