Amanda Anisimova will be hoping to move past her emphatic defeat in the Wimbledon final.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anisimova was beaten by Iga Swiatek<\/a> without winning a single game, as she cast an emotional figure in the immediate aftermath of the match.<\/p>\n

Despite the disappointing end to her Wimbledon<\/a> Championships, Anisimova received a lot of support<\/a> from both active and former players.<\/p>\n

The American has also been rewarded for reaching her first major final, with Anisimova now at a career-high ranking<\/a> ahead of the North American hard court swing. <\/p>\n

Wimbledon has continued a breakout season for Anisimova, who also won the Qatar Open<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

When speaking to Good Morning America in one of her first interviews since Wimbledon, Anisimova<\/a> called the US Open<\/a> her favourite tournament and suggested that she was hoping to make a deep run once again.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so surreal to be ranked seventh right now, it\u2019s my career and what a quick turnaround for me after my comeback,\u201d said Anisimova. \u201cThe US Open is my favourite tournament by far. It\u2019s always super exciting to be playing there and I\u2019m sure I will have the whole home crowd cheering for me over there.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll my family is going to come and support me so I am just looking forward to it and I\u2019m sure it\u2019s going to be a great tournament and hopefully I can go far again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anisimova has been spending some time with her family since the Wimbledon final, and actually shared an Instagram post of her on the beach surfing in New York.<\/p>\n

When discussing her experience at Wimbledon as a whole, Anisimova explained how many positive things she was taking away from her time at SW19, despite the way that her tournament ended.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was such a remarkable experience for me,\u201d said Anisimova. \u201cMaking it to the first Grand Slam final and it being at Wimbledon was a surreal feeling and even though it didn\u2019t go the way I would have wanted it to go, my opponent obviously was playing some great tennis, and I have had to compete against so many incredible athletes throughout the entire fortnight, but I think just getting to be able to take the takeaways of my family being there and getting to experience that moment with me was incredibly special. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd even getting to meet Kate Middleton after the final, at the ceremony, there were so many special moments and so many other things I can take away apart from the performance in itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Amanda Anisimova\u2019s record at the US Open<\/p>\n

Despite calling it her favourite tournament, the US Open is by far Anisimova\u2019s worst-performing Grand Slam.<\/p>\n

Anisimova has only won three of her eight matches (38%) in her five previous appearances at the US Open, and has never surpassed the third round in New York.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Anisimova is next scheduled to compete at the Washington Open, which begins next week on Monday, July 21.<\/p>\n

Other tournaments on her schedule include WTA<\/a> 1000 events in Montreal and Cincinnati, before heading to the US Open where she will likely be a top 10 seed for the first time.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
