A video<\/a> captured people dangling in the air for several minutes during an amusement ride malfunction at the\u00a0Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo<\/a>\u00a0in Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Attendee Akil Strawder told Storyful that he and his cousins were left suspended on the ride while his wife recorded the footage \u201cin astonishment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tango ride experienced a brief stop on March 21 while guests were on board due to a generator issue. The delay lasted approximately 2\u20133 minutes and was quickly resolved, allowing the ride to safely complete its cycle.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo injuries were reported and the ride continued operating without further issues for the remainder of the Rodeo,\u201d a spokesperson for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo told Fox News Digital on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach ride is permitted by the Texas Department of Insurance and inspected by third-party experts, including Coulter & Associates, prior to opening and through random checks during the event. In addition, Ray Cammack Shows conducts rigorous pre-event and daily inspections, led by trained supervisors certified through national safety organizations,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n

Netherlands-based\u00a0KMG Rides,<\/a>\u00a0which sells the Tango ride\u00a0shown in the video, describes it on its website as a\u00a0\u201c23-meter-high ride that rotates around 3 different axes during the ride.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe open gondolas provide passengers with a unique \u2018flying\u2019 experience,\u201d it adds. \u201cThere are 3 gondolas, each accommodating 8 people, which rotate freely during the ride.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo began in 1932 as the Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition, created by local\u00a0business people\u00a0to promote the\u00a0region\u2019s cattle industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first event featured livestock exhibitions and a small rodeo. After a pause during World War II<\/a>, the show expanded, adding entertainment and educational programs to broaden its appeal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The show is scheduled to return in 2027; it typically occurs over\u00a020 days\u00a0between late February and mid-March at NRG Stadium, featuring concerts, livestock\u00a0shows\u00a0and carnival activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo says on its website that its mission is to promote \u201cagriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public,\u00a0supports Texas youth,\u00a0showcases\u00a0Western\u00a0heritage\u00a0and provides year-round educational support within the community.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
