Visitation was still scheduled to take place Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave.<\/p>\n<p>Altman was among the firefighters who <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/crime\/2026\/03\/16\/extra-alarm-blaze-erupts-at-a-rogers-park-building-possibly-injuring-firefighter\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">responded to a fire<\/a> behind a four-story building in the 1700 block of West North Shore Avenue that started around 11:20 a.m. March 16, Deputy District Fire Chief Kelly Burns told reporters at the scene.
