It involves two teammates and an ex-girlfriend!<\/p>\n<p>DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith broke up.<\/p>\n<p>Carrington and Smith started dating in 2020 when they were teammates at Baylor University. They decided to stay together after college even though they graduated different years and were drafted by different WNBA teams. Carrington played for Phoenix. Smith played for Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>However, the couple broke up in 2023 and things supposedly got messy between them.<\/p>\n<p>Carrington and Smith <a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/sports\/article\/dijonai-carrington-nalyssa-smith-foul-pick-up-flirt-dating-relationship-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">got back together a few months later after a few flirtatious on-court moments<\/a> between them. Their rekindled relationship led to a few awkward moments in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Carrington\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/sports\/article\/nalyssa-smith-dijonai-carrington-death-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">got herself into some trouble when she accidentally poked the eye of Caitlin Clark<\/a>, who was a teammate of Smith at the time. She later\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/sports\/article\/dijonai-carrington-free-nalyssa-smith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">criticized the Fever<\/a>\u00a0for keeping her girlfriend on the bench.<\/p>\n<p>And then they both ended up as members of the Dallas Wings in 2025.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"609\" width=\"1083\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/dijonai-carrington-cheer-nalyssa-smith-wnba-opponent-girlfriend.jpg\" alt=\"DiJonai Carrington Cheer NaLyssa Smith Girlfriend WNBA Opponent\" class=\"wp-image-23713328\"  \/>Getty Image<\/p>\n<p>Although DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/sports\/article\/paige-bueckers-dijonai-carrington-nalyssa-smith-girlfriend-pool-live-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">both got in trouble with Paige Bueckers for flirting at the pool on the night before a game<\/a>, it couldn\u2019t have worked out any better for their relationship. They were together all the time\u2026 until\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnba.com\/news\/dallas-wings-trade-nalyssa-smith\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Smith was traded again<\/a>\u00a0in June. She was \u201csick to her stomach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Their on-court split ultimately led to their real-life split. Carrington confirmed the breakup in November. They \u201cgrew in different directions\u201d but it was amicable.<\/p>\n<p>Enter Jackie Young.<\/p>\n<p>There has been some speculation in recent months about a budding romance between DiJonai Carrington and Jackie Young. It was a hard launch of their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>NaLyssa Smith responded with just one emoji in a post that has since been deleted: \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n<p>Smith plays for the <a href=\"https:\/\/aces.wnba.com\/roster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Las Vegas Aces<\/a>. As does Jackie Young. Now DiJonai Carrington is dating (or at least talking to, and hanging out with) the teammate of her ex-girlfriend.
