LIVE&#8217;s Peacock Theater in 2029"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn 2029, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/oscars\/\" id=\"auto-tag_oscars_1\" data-tag=\"oscars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oscars<\/a> ceremony will be relocated from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, where it has been held since 2002, to the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles, the home of the Primetime Emmy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards_1\" data-tag=\"awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Awards<\/a> since 2008. The relocation is part of a new 10-year deal struck between the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/aeg\/\" id=\"auto-tag_aeg_1\" data-tag=\"aeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AEG<\/a>, the two organizations announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThat 2029 Oscars \u2014\u00a0the Academy\u2019s 101st \u2014\u00a0will also be the first broadcast via YouTube, as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/general-news\/oscars-bolt-from-abc-to-youtube-starting-in-2029-1236453188\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">another deal struck late last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAEG, the developer and owner of numerous high-profile venues sports and entertainment venues around the world, will preside over significant enhancements to the Peacock Theater prior to the Oscars relocation, including upgrades to its stage, sound and lighting systems, lobbies, backstage facilities and additional production-critical areas. AEG also \u201cwill collaborate closely with the Academy to incorporate bespoke design elements needed to accommodate the Oscars ceremony,\u201d according to the announcement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tL.A. LIVE, the 23-acre, 4-million-square-foot sports and entertainment district, recently expanded its plaza, which will host the Oscars\u2019 red carpet arrivals and activities. And significantly more people will be able to attend the Oscars ceremony at the Peacock Theater, which currently seats 7,100, compared with the Dolby Theatre, which seats 3,400.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe are thrilled to partner with a global powerhouse like AEG,\u201d Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Lynette Howell Taylor said in a statement. \u201cTheir track record for building and operating technologically sophisticated live performance venues is unrivaled.
