The Nigeria Basketball Federation on Friday said that Nigeria\u2019s D\u2019Tigress will take on U.S. franchise Indiana Fever in another tune-up game.<\/p>\n

NBBF media person, Akeem Buhari, disclosed this on Friday in a statement made available in Lagos.<\/p>\n

According to Mr Buhari, the friendly match will take place on May 2 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, U.S.<\/p>\n

He said that the matchup is a part of Indiana\u2019s pre-season buildup to the upcoming 2026 WNBA championships.<\/p>\n

Expected to headline the clash from both sides are guards Caitlin Clark of the Fever and Nigeria\u2019s Ezinne Kalu Phelps.<\/p>\n

Ms Clark won the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award, while the veteran Phelps won multiple African championships.<\/p>\n

She was also instrumental in Nigeria\u2019s quarter-final effort at the last Olympic Basketball Tournament in France.<\/p>\n

The Indiana fixture makes it a third planned game against a WNBA side for the Nigerian ladies.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the NBBF announced a friendly fixture between D\u2019Tigress and the Los Angeles Sparks for April 25.<\/p>\n

The African Queens will also play another WNBA side, the Minnesota Lynx, on 27 April, making it a busy outing for Nigeria during the WNBA preseason.<\/p>\n

Nigeria is currently ranked No. 8 in the world, with D\u2019Tigress recently winning gold at the 2025 FIBA Women\u2019s AfroBasket tournament to qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women\u2019s Basketball.<\/p>\n
