Buckle up! Google is throwing a party next month. Samsung announced its new Galaxy Z Fold 7 (check out my review here)<\/a>, the Z Flip 7,<\/a> and the Galaxy Watch 8 and 8 Classic<\/a> last week, and Google is going next before Apple will likely do its annual iPhone and Apple Watch event in September.<\/p>\n

Google has just announced an event for August 20, where it will \u201cintroduce the latest addition to our Pixel portfolio of devices.\u201d Whatever could Google be hinting at? I\u2019m sure it couldn\u2019t be the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL that were already leaked months ago<\/a>. It\u2019s also very likely we\u2019ll see a Pixel 10 Pro Fold<\/a>. I\u2019ll be most interested in seeing whether that book-style foldable competes with Samsung\u2019s superb Galaxy Z Fold 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Google also typically uses its events to announce Pixel accessories like the Pixel Watch 3<\/a> at last year\u2019s summer event or the Pixel Buds 2 Pro wireless earbuds<\/a> from before that. I wouldn\u2019t bet against new Pixel Watch 4 (in two sizes) or wireless earbuds showing up.<\/p>\n

One thing you can definitely bet on Google spending ample time on is AI, and specifically Gemini AI<\/a>. Google spent almost the entirety of its I\/O developer conference in May talking up the merits and improvements it\u2019s made to its AI models and chatbot. AI will change how you use your phone\u2014definitely, for real this time\u2026 maybe. And Gemini will be at the front of all of it.<\/p>\n
