\n\tRyan Gosling<\/a> might be heading to Salem.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe three-time Oscar-nominated actor said yes to Deidre Hall<\/a>\u2019s invitation to visit the set of \u201cDays of Our Lives<\/a>,\u201d capping off a weeklong exchange sparked by his praise of the longtime soap star.<\/p>\n

\n\tGosling, speaking on the \u201cHappy Sad Confused<\/a>\u201d podcast while promoting \u201cProject Hail Mary<\/a>,\u201d said he grew up watching the long-running daytime drama and singled out Hall\u2019s portrayal of Marlena Evans. He pointed in particular to the show\u2019s possession storyline, recalling how it shaped his appreciation for the craft.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey do not get the love they deserve,\u201d Gosling said of soap actors. \u201cThe amount they have to memorize the night before \u2014 like 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take, and it\u2019s impossible scenarios.\u201d He added that watching Hall shift between a \u201cnormal person\u201d and someone \u201cpossessed by the devil\u201d was \u201can incredible acting class.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHall, who has played Marlena since 1976, responded days later with a video message<\/a> thanking Gosling and inviting him to visit the set. \u201cWe\u2019re just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of,\u201d she said, noting that the cast shared the clip with her behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\n\tGosling accepted in a follow-up video posted to his partner Evan Mendes and \u201cProject Hail Mary\u2019s\u201d Instagram accounts, calling Hall his \u201cOG acting inspiration.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation,\u201d he said. \u201cI will be there to thank you in person\u2026 It wasn\u2019t Marlon Brando. It wasn\u2019t De Niro. It was you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA visit, however, may take some coordination. There is no set filming schedule currently in place, and Peacock said the show will not be filming next week.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cProject Hail Mary\u201d is playing now in theaters, and new episodes of \u201cDays of Our Lives\u201d stream on Peacock.<\/p>\n
