charged in connection with the security incident at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Shaheer Cassim, 39, has been charged with <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/hijacking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hijacking<\/a> after allegedly stealing a small plane from the Victoria Flying Club, flying it over the Salish Sea and eventually landing it at YVR.<\/p>\n<p>Cassim made a brief court appearance on Wednesday afternoon and remains in custody.<\/p>\n<p>According to public records, an order was made to determine whether Cassim is fit to stand trial.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img
