But at least on Thursday, it looks like it could even drop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">On Wednesday, there was almost 10 degrees of difference between the high of 95 and the max heat index of 104, according to the National Weather Service\u2019s Fort Worth office. Thursday, that gap is expected to close significantly, with a high of 98 degrees and a maximum \u201cfeels like\u201d temperature of 101.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">That surprising shrinkage is because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2024\/05\/24\/what-is-heat-index-and-why-does-it-matter-in-dallas-fort-worth-as-summer-approaches\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2024\/05\/24\/what-is-heat-index-and-why-does-it-matter-in-dallas-fort-worth-as-summer-approaches\/\">heat index <\/a>considers how the air feels to the human body and is calculated using both temperature and humidity.
