LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) \u2014\u00a0Louisville FC shut out Brooklyn FC 1-0 in the first meeting between the clubs Saturday at Maimonides Park in New York.<\/p>\n
LouCity won 1-0 via an own goal in the 60th minute after Louisville forward Ray Serrano intercepted a pass, dribbled pass a defender and sent a cross that Brooklyn defender Thomas Vancaeyezelle deflected in.\u00a0<\/p>\n
With the win, LouCity is now 4-0 for the season and\u00a0became the first club in USL Championship history to reach 200 regular-season wins.<\/p>\n
“I’m really proud of the grind and the grit that the players showed,” said LouCity\u2019s interim head coach, Simon Bird, in a release.<\/p>\n
The boys in purple are now No. 1 in the USL Group A standings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The team is back at home for its next match up on Saturday, April 4 at 4 p.m. against Charleston Battery.\u00a0<\/p>\n
