A stabbing in Barrio Logan late Friday night left a 28-year-old man dead and his suspected attackers at large, police said Saturday.<\/p>\n
The San Diego Police Department responded to an alley in the 1600 block of Logan Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Friday after getting several reports about the stabbing.<\/p>\n
“As officers arrived, they observed the victim, described as a 28- year-old male of Somali decent, collapse to the ground. A citizen, the responding officers, and medics all provided medical aid at the scene,” Homicide Lt. Lou Maggi said in a statement. “The man was transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.”<\/p>\n
The man’s identity was not released until his family can be notified. Detectives were expected to be in the area throughout the day Saturday collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses.<\/p>\n
“Thus far, investigators have determined the victim was surrounded by a group of three Hispanic men, a Hispanic female, and then attacked by some in the group,” Maggi said. “Officers detained a male and a female shortly after the stabbing, but they have since been released as detectives continue their investigation.”<\/p>\n
No additional suspect information was released.<\/p>\n
