(Photo by Chris Stone\/Times of San Diego)<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejusticeconnection.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Bove-Nomination-DOJ-Letter.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a letter<\/a> to the Senate Judiciary Committee, more than 900 former Justice Department lawyers, including 11 San Diego County prosecutors, raised concerns about elevating Emil Bove, a top department official, to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ca3.uscourts.gov\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They cited Bove\u2019s role in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/eric-adams-indictment-109ef48bd49bc8adc1850709c99bf666\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dismissal of New York Mayor Eric Adams\u2019 case<\/a>, and the claims of a whistleblower who says Bove\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/justice-department-emil-bove-judge-deportations-trump-3800859fc5035bfa7f091ebc97711fb8\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">suggested the department might have to flout court orders<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">*900* former Justice Department employees express alarm over Emil Bove\u2019s embattled judicial nomination.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve seen up close what it means to uphold the law.
