Trinity Metro riders who pay for their fares through an app will need to download an updated version.<\/p>\n

The GoPass app<\/a> \u2014 developed by Dallas Area Rapid Transit \u2014 allows users to check bus and rail schedules and buy local and regional day passes in Tarrant, Dallas and Collin counties.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Version 4.11.1 of the app is being used as of March 25, DART officials said in a news release.<\/p>\n

GoPass version 4.11.0 will no longer support payments. \u201cUsers will be prompted to download the new version and update stored payment information to purchase passes via the app,\u201d officials said in a statement.<\/p>\n

DART officials said they released the updated app to keep financial information from credit and debit cards safe after identifying a security issue with GoPass Tap Cards, the agency\u2019s reloadable payment system. The tap cards will be temporarily suspended on March 31.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the app, Trinity Metro riders can buy day passes from the ticketing kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station, 1001 Jones St., or through payment machines at train platforms. Cash is also accepted for fares.<\/p>\n
