The 48-team field for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is nearly finalized<\/a>, meaning soccer fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth area can plan accordingly.<\/p>\n

With a tournament-high nine matches, including a semifinal, all of North Texas should be impacted — not just Arlington’s AT&T Stadium (which will be referred to as Dallas Stadium by tournament organizers<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Here’s a quick rundown of the teams that will play in\u00a0D-FW, and when.<\/p>\n

There are five group stage matches in North Texas. The final team will be determined on Tuesday, March 31<\/a>. Each team plays three group matches. The top two teams advance to the knockout stage. The eight highest-ranking third-place teams also advance.<\/p>\n

Although North Texas proposed half a dozen sites for teams to host their base camps, only two teams<\/a> will plant their flags in the\u00a0D-FW area as their official training site: Tuesday’s winners between Poland and Sweden and Denmark and Czechia.<\/p>\n
