NBA Europe \u201ccontinues to be on track, preparing for a 2027 tipoff,\u201d and the question is now \u201cwhether we will end up with a joint competition that will also include EuroLeague.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/03\/25\/silver-nba-europe-euroleague-collaboration-is-best-outcome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/03\/25\/silver-nba-europe-euroleague-collaboration-is-best-outcome\/\">Recent comments by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver<\/a> were \u201cmore than clear about a possible collaboration, and the same has been said by\u201d EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno. The \u201cwill to make a deal is obvious from both sides,\u201d and having Bueno in the negotiations \u201cmakes things simpler,\u201d because of his former experience as an NBA exec. If the EuroLeague and the NBA get a financial deal, a 24-team competition is \u201cpossible in order to accommodate as many new and old clubs as possible that are able to be part of the top competition level in Europe.\u201d The NBA in 2024 made an offer that was \u201cessentially taking control of the EuroLeague and having 51% of the ownership for providing their managerial and financial expertise,\u201d but \u201ctalks never took any meaningful shape.\u201d Sources said Real Madrid and Fenerbahce are \u201cvery close to signing the new 10-year licenses, further solidifying the position\u201d of EuroLeague.
