{"id":694249,"date":"2026-03-31T06:56:18","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T06:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/694249\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T06:56:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T06:56:18","slug":"grizzly-trio-spotted-in-gtnp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/694249\/","title":{"rendered":"Grizzly trio spotted in GTNP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK \u2014 They say good things come in threes. <\/p>\n<p>That was certainly the case for photographer Susan Winfree on Sunday when she encountered a grizzly bear and two offspring out for a jaunt in Grand Teton National Park (GTNP). <\/p>\n<p>Grizzlies are emerging from their long winter\u2019s rest in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMale grizzlies come out of\u00a0hibernation\u00a0in early March,\u201d Yellowstone National Park shared on March 10 after this year\u2019s first <a href=\"https:\/\/buckrail.com\/yellowstone-grizzly-emerges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">grizzly sighting in the park<\/a>. \u201cFemales with cubs emerge in April and early May.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>GTNP advises the following in the event of a bear encounter:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>DO NOT RUN.<\/strong>\u00a0Bears can easily outrun any human. Running may elicit attacks from non-aggressive bears.<\/li>\n<li>If the bear is unaware of you, detour quickly and quietly.<\/li>\n<li>If the bear is aware but has not acted aggressively, back slowly away while talking in an even tone or not at all.<\/li>\n<li>Use your peripheral vision. Bears may interpret direct eye contact as threatening.<\/li>\n<li>Do not drop your pack \u2014 this teaches bears how to obtain human food. Your pack can also protect your body in the case of an attack.<\/li>\n<li>Do not climb trees \u2014 all black bears and some grizzly bears can also climb trees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you to Susan Winfree for submitting this amazing photo!
