According to police sources, the incident unfolded at around 12:26 p.m. on March 30 on the corner of 28th Street and Madison Avenue when several shots rang out. <\/p>\n

Sources familiar with the investigation report that a 49-year-old security guard working at the nearby Breaking Ground Shelter was struck twice on the torso.\n<\/p>\n

Officers from the 13th Precinct<\/a> responded to the scene along with EMS units, who rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital. He was listed in stable condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Steps away from where the shooting unfolded, a production team was working on an episode of the hit television show \u201cCIA\u201d where one of the workers told amNewYork heard the gunfire.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone was shot,\u201d the exasperated staff member said. \u201cHe was laying on the ground right there.\u201d

Sources with knowledge of the incident state that the gunman and the perpetrator were seen speaking to one another before the shots were fired.<\/p>\n

Police say they are seeking a man wearing a black backpack who fled toward 27th Street.\n<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another eyewitness told amNewYork that a distraught woman fled into a nearby Whole Foods supermarket seeking help.\n<\/p>\n

Police recovered two shell casings at the scene.\u00a0 No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.\n<\/p>\n
