An investigation was underway — and a bus was taken out of service — early Tuesday, after officials said SEPTA’s Route 65 was discovered to have been struck by gunfire.<\/p>\n
Overnight Tuesday, NBC10’s cameras spotted police inspecting the bus near the intersection of Magdalena Street and East Walnut Lane in Philly’s Roxborough section. <\/p>\n
But, officials did not immediately provide details about the incident.<\/p>\n
In an update at about 6:15 a.m., SEPTA officials said police were investigating after a gunshot possibly hit the Route 65 bus shortly aftermidnight.<\/p>\n
Though, officials did not immediately say where the shooting may have occurred. <\/p>\n
SEPTA did say, however, that there were no passengers on the bus when the shooting happened and the operator was unharmed. <\/p>\n
An investigation, officials said, is ongoing. <\/p>\n
