(Supplied: Queensland Police Service)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">His lawyers indicated they would issue a subpoena for his medical records ahead of a sentencing hearing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Weaver was remanded in custody, and his case is expected to be mentioned next month.<\/p>\n<p>Victim missing for weeks before discovery<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The court heard Weaver, who was 24 at the time, killed Mr Thornton on an unknown date between January and March in 2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">During that time, Mr Thornton had been reported missing by his family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">An extensive police investigation led to an excavation at the 58-year-old&#8217;s Goodna property.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A man with his head bowed inside a police car\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/a1da19be2511dc62e96d8dfde23a1774.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Weaver was extradited from NSW to Queensland in 2019.
