We wanted to make sure you\u2019re making the most of your Philly summer. With all of the festivals, events and concerts going on, it can be hard to know what to set aside time for.<\/p>\n<p>We created a roundup of Philly events for the rest of the summer so you can fill out your schedule!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Festivals\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, July 19 \u2013 Summer Ale Festival at the Philadelphia Zoo\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visit the Philadelphia Zoo for the <a href=\"https:\/\/philadelphiazoo.org\/events\/summer-ale-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cwildest\u201d beer festival<\/a> in Philly on Saturday, July 19. The adults-only event will feature hard seltzers, craft beers, ciders, food trucks and live music (and, of course, zoo animals and attractions). Tickets are $84 and the event lasts from 7 to 10 p.m. (with taps closing at 9:30 p.m.).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, July 31 to Sunday, August 3 \u2013 BlackStar Film Festival\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This celebration of Black, Brown and Indigenous filmmaking will be held in person in Philadelphia this year. The festival will feature shorts, documentaries, experimental films and features from filmmakers all around the world. Tickets range from $7.50 to $18 per film, and will be held at various locations. For more information and to stay up to date, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackstarfest.org\/festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the festival website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, August 3 \u2013 2nd Street Fest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Northern Liberties\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.2ndstfestival.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">annual street festival<\/a> brings visitors and residents together to enjoy NoLibs businesses, restaurants, vendors, artists and musicians. It\u2019s free to attend, and it lasts from noon to 10 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17 \u2013 Philadelphia Folk Festival\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/folkfest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">annual weekend festival<\/a> features folk musicians and singer-songwriters from around the country. The festival promotes music discovery with \u201csafe and family-friendly\u201d activities, including camping, food trucks, educational workshops, vendors and activities. <a href=\"https:\/\/folkfest.org\/tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adult tickets<\/a> start at $80 and scheduling\/timing for the concert varies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, August 23 \u2013 Vegandale Festival\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enjoy vegan food and art, entertainment, music and drinks at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vegandalefest.com\/philadelphia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">traveling vegan festival \u201cVegandale.\u201d<\/a> The festival\u2019s mission is to celebrate a \u201cworld free of animal exploitation.\u201d The festival in Navy Yards will feature food, drink and merch trucks, as well as interactive art and entertainment. Tickets range from $15 to $40.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through Sunday, August 31 \u2013 Chinese Lantern Festival\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Philadelphia\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/billypenn.com\/2025\/06\/18\/chinese-lantern-festival-philly-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> ongoing Chinese Lantern Festival<\/a> features everything from lanterns and a live light display to art, dumpling making and food\/drinks each night. The festival runs every night from 6 to 11 p.m., and <a href=\"https:\/\/hpi.ticketapp.org\/portal\/product\/59\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advanced tickets<\/a> are required. The festivities take place at Franklin Square Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, September 4 to Sunday, September 28 \u2013 Philadelphia Fringe Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This art festival will feature hundreds of performances across the city intended to spark innovation and creativity. The lineup features everything from a \u201cCarnival of Feelings,\u201d\u00a0 where participants can play simple games while exploring feelings, to \u201cFracture,\u201d an evening-length dance performance focusing on the patriarchy and how femininity is forced to adapt to various societal standards. <a href=\"https:\/\/phillyfringe.org\/events\/?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Events and performances<\/a> are held at various times and have various prices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through Saturday, October 25 \u2013 PECO Multicultural Series at Cherry Street Pier &amp; Spruce Street Harbor Park\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PECO Multicultural Series highlights various, diverse Philly communities with music, dance, food, vendors and more. Watch a roach race, where you can cheer on your favorite cockroach as it tests its speed on different tracks and roads with obstacles, or ask scientists\/experts your burning questions about insects or how to get into the bug field. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday (with a special film presentation at 3:15 p.m. Sunday). Tickets are $22 for non-member adults and $18 for non-member children.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, August 23 \u2013 The Philly Bookstore Crawl\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Book lovers or novice readers can indulge in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phillybookstorecrawl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">third annual celebration<\/a> of Philly\u2019s bookstore scene on Saturday, August 23. On this day, participating bookstores around town will be hosting unique events, offering discounts and providing giveaways. The crawl is self-guided and there is no specific route, but check out this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phillybookstorecrawl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">listing of participating shops<\/a> in your area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21 \u2013 Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Show\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enjoy original art, jewelry, sketches and glassware from various Rittenhouse artists at the mid-September Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Show. The event will feature work by over 100 artists and vendors. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rittenhousesquareart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">event website<\/a> has updates and more information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through Saturday, October 26 (Saturdays and Sundays) \u2013 Southeast Asian Market at FDR Park\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss out on South Philly\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitphilly.com\/things-to-do\/food-drink\/southeast-asian-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seasonal popup market<\/a>! It features Southeast Asian cuisine from the city \u2013 including Lao, Khmer, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian options. The market also has vendors with culturally specific produce, and jewelry, clothing and art. For the market\u2019s most updated days, check their website. The market is open most Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the exception of local race days or Eagles home game days. Some vendors are cash only and there is no ATM, so don\u2019t forget to have some money in hand!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through October \u2013 Parks on Tap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check out Philly\u2019s \u201ctraveling beer garden,\u201d which brings drinks and food to parks and green spaces around the city, rotating locations each week. The event will be held in various neighborhoods through October. Experience the show tunes, choreographed dances and fun entrances \u2013 plus, an appearance by former Phillie star Ryan Howard. Philly\u2019s Major League Soccer club, which is having a strong season, will host several more games this season \u2013 for huge fans or novice appreciators alike.
