As it turns out, Chicago has also been following these impacts with interest: In a story shared this week by RTBC Executive Editor Will Doig, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-03-26\/nyc-style-congestion-pricing-could-pay-off-for-chicago-too?srnd=phx-citylab\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bloomberg CityLab reports<\/a> that a number of Windy City leaders see potential for congestion pricing in their city. But, like pizza, it would look quite different in Chicago than it does back east. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8336 alignleft\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"will doig\" width=\"100\" height=\"133\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/AuthorPhoto.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Will says:<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m in Chicago this week, and this piece rings true: Traffic on local city streets feels less intense than in many eastern cities, but expressway traffic is nuts. Just the fact that Chicago is considering emulating New York \u2014 where congestion pricing has been a huge success \u2014 is a perfect example of working solutions multiplying almost by magic.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-26447 alignright\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"Hechinger report logo\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/589931075_18398607208125618_2983918479985990825_n.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><b>Quick learners<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Across the U.S., colleges are beginning to offer a faster path to an undergraduate degree. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/hechingerreport.org\/faster-thinner-colleges-bachelors-degree-three-years\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to a Hechinger Report story<\/a> that caught Contributing Editor Geetanjali Krishna\u2019s attention, nearly 60 schools are considering or have already developed reduced-credit, three-year bachelor\u2019s degrees. The goal: to lower costs \u2014\u00a0and dropout rates.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-20456 alignleft\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Untitled-design-2-e1732646801244.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Geetanjali says:<\/p>\n<p>What makes this especially interesting is how directly it contrasts with the recent decision by University of Delhi to do the exact opposite \u2014 and extend its traditional three-year program to four years, despite similar concerns that longer degrees can increase costs and discourage completion!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Welcome back to our weekly behind-the-scenes glimpse at what\u2019s getting our team talking.
