So much so, it just broke a major record. The Back to the Beginning festival \u2014 which featured the legendary metal band\u2019s oribgal linoeup all performing together on dstage for the last time \u2014 is now the highest grossing charity concert of all-time.<\/p>\n<p>Billboard has confirmed that the event raised over $190 million, surpassing Live Aid (1985), FireAid (2025), and Hope for Haiti Now (2010) by a lot. Notably, all proceeds from Back to the Beginning will be distributed between three worthy causes: Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital, Acorn Children\u2019s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson\u2019s. See a comparison chart below:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Back to the Beginning (2025): $190 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>FireAid (2025): Over $100 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Live Aid (1985): Approximately $100 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Farm Aid (since 1985): Over $80 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hope For Haiti (2010): $57 million<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On July 5, Fans ascended on Villa Park, Birmingham, for the Back To The Beginning festival, which has been called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/ozzy-osbourne-to-reunite-with-black-sabbath-for-final-show\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the greatest heavy metal show ever<\/a>.\u201d It was the absolute last time that Ozzy Osbourne and the original lineup of Black Sabbath performed together live.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBirmingham is a city which means so much to Ozzy,\u201d said Ozzy\u2019s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne. \u201cWhen it comes to heavy metal music, Black Sabbath forming and his love of Aston Villa \u2014 it all started here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to seeing the legendary heavy metal godfathers, fans in attendance at the Back To The Beginning concert also got to see performances from epic bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/former-lamb-of-god-drummer-chris-adler-says-hes-been-estranged-from-his-brother-willie-since-leaving-the-band\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lamb of God<\/a>, Anthrax, Mastodon, and 2025 Grammy-winners Gojira.<\/p>\n<p>The concert wasn\u2019t done to make a profit, and all of the participating artists \u2014 including Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera \u2014 did so for free. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metalsucks.net\/2025\/07\/08\/black-sabbaths-back-to-the-beginning-raised-nearly-200-million-for-charity-and-local-hospitals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Metal Sucks<\/a> noted that, while raising almost $200 million for charity from the event is a major accomplishment, the eye-opening part realy is that the math works out to meaning that the livestream generated upwards of $150 million, at $30 a ticket.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath\u2019s final concert event was a huge success.
