HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 After nearly three weeks without measurable rain, Southeast Texas is finally getting some much-needed rain. <\/p>\n

It will not <\/b>be a washout every day, but you\u2019ll want to stay weather aware through the weekend. We\u2019ll see scattered showers north of I-10 Thursday morning and early afternoon. Saturday is our best chances for heavy widespread rain. In fact, there is a flood threat late Saturday. This means Easter egg hunts in the morning may be muddy, but the rest of Easter Sunday should be dry. We\u2019ll talk about Easter evening below. <\/p>\n

Thursday: Most heavy rain falls north of I-10:<\/b><\/p>\n

Thursday is more active compared to Wednesday. A nearby area of low pressure and stronger upper-level support will bring a cluster of thunderstorms, mainly late morning into the afternoon. Some storms may produce heavier downpours, and some areas could pick up an inch or more of rain.<\/p>\n

Rain will move from the northwest to the east with the primary line of storms reaching the Brazos Valley Thursday around 7AM, before hitting north of Houston mid-morning. All of the heavy rain moves out early afternoon.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t have any organized weather systems near us so any rain that falls will be isolated. Temperatures climb to the mid-80s with a 30% chance of rain. <\/p>\n

Saturday: street flooding threat:<\/b><\/p>\n

A cold front moves through Houston Saturday evening. The day will start warm and muggy with a few spotty showers possible, but the main event comes at 5pm give or take an hour. <\/p>\n

Because of the high moisture content and slow movement of the cold front, there is a street flooding threat for all of southeast Texas. Rain totals could climb as high as 3\u2033-4\u2033. Higher totals will be north of I-10, and lower amounts south of I-10. The hope is we get a good soaking to help our drought conditions. <\/p>\n

Some lingering light rain may be around early Sunday morning along the coast. The rest of us wake up to temperatures in the upper-50s with cloudy skies and strong north winds. This will make it feel colder than the actual temperature. <\/p>\n

Temperatures warm to the upper 60s and most of the day will be dry but not all of it. One more area of low pressure moves through Houston Sunday night. The below image is the futurecast for 6pm Sunday. This rain will not be as intense as Saturday night\u2019s night. <\/p>\n

The good news, we need this rain. Southeast Texas has been stuck in drought, so this will definitely help, even if it doesn\u2019t fix everything overnight. <\/p>\n
