Jenna Bush Hager<\/strong> somehow managed to both win and fail April Fools\u2019 all at once, which is quite impressive.<\/p>\n

The TODAY show host staged a cruel joke to play on fellow host Willie Geist<\/strong>, with help from accomplice Arianna Davis<\/strong>, and while it didn\u2019t alllll go to plan \u2014 she certainly succeeded in scaring the life out of Geist.<\/p>\n

The hilarious bit happened while Jones was hosting a segment on trending topics. She began by speaking about the buzzy Lamar Odom<\/strong> documentary and Raye<\/strong>\u2018s new album, then transitioned to introducing a special cake which she said had gone \u201cviral\u201d and cost $20,000 because the bakery only made one of them a day.<\/p>\n

At this point, Bush Hager got up to take the cake from a production assistant, asking if it was really heavy, before promptly dropping the cake on the floor and spectacularly destroying it.<\/p>\n

Though that was all she was supposed to do with the cake, the host went on to slip and fall dramatically while still holding the platter it came on, as Geist and Davis looked on in apparent shock.<\/p>\n

Davis then made a show of crying, \u201cWell, there goes the one cake! $20,000, Jenna!\u201d<\/p>\n

By then, though, Geist had already figured it out: \u201cApril Fools\u2019, everybody,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cGood job!\u201d<\/p>\n

He then explained that he only figured it out after his co-host \u201cwent down,\u201d but that they\u2019d otherwise gotten him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did get it all over my shoes,\u201d Bush Hager then said, holding said shoes up to the camera. \u201cI really committed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis then asked her co-host if the fall was real. \u201cThe fall was fake,\u201d Bush Hager said. \u201cI mean, the fall was real!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou slipped on the icing,\u201d Geist said, with Bush Hager adding, \u201cWe tried to trick Willie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The trickee in question said, \u201cI mean, it is suspicious, isn\u2019t it? A $20,000 cake.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TODAY show posted a clip from the gag on Instagram<\/a>, captioning it, \u201cThe cake was fake, the fall was real \ud83d\ude02\ud83e\udd23 and JBH is OK! April Fools\u2019, Willie!\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis confirmed in the comments, \u201cY\u2019all, my shocked reaction was real because Jenna was NOT supposed to fall like that \ud83d\ude02.\u201d<\/p>\n

Geist added, \u201cFULL commitment from JBH, as always. \ud83c\udf82.\u201d<\/p>\n

One fan added, \u201cOnly JBH would wipe out in all white. We love a girl committed to the gag \ud83d\udc4f.\u201d<\/p>\n
