\n\tMargaret Cho<\/a> is accusing Ellen DeGeneres<\/a> of being \u201cnot nice\u201d to her for most of her career, despite them both working in comedy in their early days.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress and comedian made a recent appearance on The Kelly Mantle Show<\/a>, where she claimed that DeGeneres would act like they had just met whenever she was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cEllen was really weird and not nice to me for most of my career,\u201d Cho said. \u201cI opened for her in the 1980s, when she was a headliner in comedy clubs, way before her big fame. Later, when I would do her talk show in the 2000s, she acted like we just met.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018Bitch, what?\u2019 That\u2019s weird. We go way back. It\u2019s so creepy and weird,\u201d the Grammy and Emmy nominee joked.<\/p>\n

\n\tCho went on to recall one instance where David Bowie was a guest on DeGeneres\u2019 daytime talk show, and the night before his appearance, Cho had attended his concert wearing a \u201cChinese emperor outfit,\u201d as she described it. The comedian said she later learned that Bowie kept complimenting her concert look during his Ellen DeGeneres Show visit, but that his comments had been edited out of the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe producer, who\u2019s a really good friend of mine, had to call me and tell me, \u2018I can\u2019t believe she did this, but she cut it out of the show,’\u201d Cho recounted. \u201c\u2018But you need to know that he was going on and on about your outfit. God said your name. He loves you.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Cho said she wasn\u2019t exactly sure why Bowie\u2019s remarks on her outfit were cut from the show, and that it could have been due to time, she added that she\u2019s still \u201cgoing to take it personally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter has reached out to DeGeneres\u2019 rep for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the years before The Ellen DeGeneres Show came to a close with season 19 in 2022<\/a>, DeGeneres and her show were met with controversy, including personal digs and a BuzzFeed News expos\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0detailing allegations of a toxic workplace. The latter promoted an internal investigation by WarnerMedia and the\u00a0dismissal of key executives<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDeGeneres, who said she learned about the toxic workplace claims through the press, opened the show\u2019s 18th season with an apology, telling viewers at the time<\/a>, \u201cI learned that things happen here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously. And I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for why she decided to end her daytime show after season 19, DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> in 2021, \u201cWhen you\u2019re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged \u2014 and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it\u2019s just not a challenge anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCho has also previously commented on The Ellen DeGeneres Show\u2018s toxic workplace allegations, saying on the Hot Takes & Deep Dives podcast<\/a> in 2020, \u201cI think she definitely is scary. I\u2019m still scared of Ellen. Everyone should be scared of Ellen.
