{"id":70404,"date":"2025-07-17T17:06:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T17:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/70404\/"},"modified":"2025-07-17T17:06:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T17:06:08","slug":"coco-gauff-posts-her-immediate-reaction-after-winning-award-following-her-success-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/70404\/","title":{"rendered":"Coco Gauff posts her immediate reaction after winning award following her success this year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Coco Gauff has had an up-and-down season on the court, but has now earned the \u2018best tennis player\u2019 honour at this year\u2019s ESPY awards, presented by ESPN. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/coco-gauff-reveals-what-she-told-her-team-immediately-after-aryna-sabalenkas-comments-following-the-french-open-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gauff won her second Grand Slam title<\/a> at the French Open in 2025, defeating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aryna Sabalenka<\/a> in the final to hoist the trophy for the first time on Court Philippe Chatrier. <\/p>\n<p>Sabalenka was also a nominee for the award, along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> and his Wimbledon conqueror, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jannik Sinner<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Despite a disappointing campaign at the All England Club, it was ultimately the world number two who was given the prize.<\/p>\n<p> Finding out she had won the next day, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/coco-gauff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gauff<\/a> posted her immediate reaction on social media.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2218571436-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Coco Gauff of United States with the Coupe Suzanne Lenglen trophy after her victory over Aryna Sabalenka in the Women's Singles Final match on Day Fourteen of the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros.\" class=\"wp-image-112953\" \/>Photo by Tnani Badreddine\/DeFodi Images\/DeFodi via Getty ImagesCoco Gauff\u2019s reaction to winning the \u2018best tennis player award\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>After winning in 2024, the American has now clinched the award for the second year in a row. <\/p>\n<p>Gauff took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say: \u201cWoke up to finding out I won another ESPY!
