\n\tDisney<\/a>\u2019s Lilo & Stitch<\/a> has crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office<\/a>, now with $1.001B<\/strong> through Wednesday. The sweet little girl and her mischievous blue alien finally give Hollywood its first billion-dollar movie of 2025, with Lilo & Stitch the only studio film to reach the milestone this year. The split is $416.2M<\/strong> domestic and $584.8M<\/strong> from the international box office<\/a> while play continues. L&S is the No. 1 MPA movie of 2025 both internationally and globally<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Disney\/Rideback production directed by Dean Fleischer Camp passed $1B with Wednesday\u2019s grosses included, this after an eighth weekend that saw increases and strong holds<\/a> in a handful of overseas markets.<\/p>\n

\n\tDisney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergman said, \u201cWe knew there was a lot of love for\u00a0Lilo & Stitch\u00a0with audiences around the world, yet we never take that for granted, and we\u2019re proud of how this new film has connected with people. I\u2019m thankful to our filmmakers, our cast, and all on our studio team who have made this film such a success, and we look forward to more adventures with these characters ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDomestically, Lilo & Stitch opened May 23 to a record-breaking $183M<\/a> in four days, setting the biggest Memorial Day weekend debut in history. It\u2019s become one of only two films this year to surpass $400M at the domestic box office.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tInternationally, L&S\u00a0is the\u00a0highest-grossing Disney live-action film of all time in Mexico and is already the highest-grossing film of 2025 across a range of key international markets in Europe (France, Italy, Spain) and Latin America (Brazil, Mexico), in addition to several smaller markets.<\/p>\n

\n\tNotably, Latin America as a region is just under $200M, leaning greatly into the overall cume.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Top 10 offshore markets through Wednesday are: Mexico ($67M), UK ($48.9M), France ($42.4M), Brazil ($37.4M), Germany ($32.4M), Spain ($27.4M), China ($25.2M), Italy ($25.1M), Australia ($21.1M) and Argentina ($20.1M).<\/p>\n

\n\tLilo & Stitch is currently playing in theaters worldwide, and a sequel is now in development. The new live-action film\u2019s box office success has reignited global interest in the franchise,\u00a0driving record viewership of the original animated classic and related content on Disney+, which have been viewed more than\u00a0640\u00a0million hours on the platform globally.<\/p>\n
