Beloved bald eagle pair Jackie and Shadow’s first eaglet of 2026 hatched near Big Bear Lake on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
An egg was in the process of hatching as of Saturday morning, and the little bird emerged from its shell at 9:33 p.m., the nest’s livestream cameras operated by nonprofit Friends of Big Bear Valley showed.<\/p>\n
This hatch comes after the couple’s two eggs, laid in January, were breached by ravens<\/a> while both parents were away from the nest, breaking the hearts of many fans.<\/p>\n Jackie then laid a second clutch of eggs in February, which included the one that hatched Saturday. The FOBBV said on social media a pip, or a breach in the shell, was spotted<\/a> on Friday morning.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBig Bear eagles Jackie and Shadow have laid a second egg for the 2026 year.
