DeWanna Bonner on her first impression of Mercury coaching staff<\/p>\n

Bonner said the Mercury’s coaching staff gave her a warm welcome and made sure to check on her mental health before making any major decisions.<\/p>\n

Even though Diana Taurasi has retired, the WNBA’s biggest trash talker remains in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Taurasi held down the honor for the past two years, but now it’s Mercury star Alyssa Thomas’ turn.<\/p>\n

Thomas now holds the baton as the league’s No. 1 trash talker, according to her peers in an anonymous poll from The Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thomas isn’t a stranger to letting her peers know how she feels. She’s also able to back her talk with her performance, leading the league in assists (9.5 per game), and is one of three players to post a triple-double in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShe smiles and talks (expletive) \u2014 that\u2019s the crazy part, it\u2019s psycho stuff, she\u2019s crazy, man,” one player said.<\/p>\n

Another player said, \u201cEveryone knows AT talks (expletive). I don\u2019t even guard her, and she talks (expletive) to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Out of the 33 respondents, 13 of them voted for Thomas, which made her the runaway favorite over Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams (five votes) and Connecticut Sun guard Marina Mabrey (four).<\/p>\n
