Wearing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWmUcl7EZZ1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">custom hat<\/a> he made inspired by the Mad Hatter from \u201cAlice in Wonderland,\u201d he said it was great to see the tradition firsthand.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see this in the neighborhoods when you wake up on Sunday morning, you\u2019ll see everybody coming out [of] their house on Easter dressed in their finest,\u201d Workman said. \u201cBut to have it all in one place and have a contest for the best dressed in different categories, that\u2019s really fun.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Cynthia Young-Nelson has been bringing generations of her family to South Street for the holiday for more than 20 years. Over time, she has built a community around the tradition and keeps in touch with people she\u2019s met along the way.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe get to hug each other and talk about how the year went,\u201d Young-Nelson said. \u201cWe celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our savior.
