Jon Stewart does not sound like he is losing sleep over \u201cThe Daily Show\u201d potentially being canceled if Skydance\u2019s acquisition of Paramount is approved.<\/p>\n

Stewart, on the Thursday episode of his \u201cThe Weekly Show\u201d podcast, was asked if he is concerned the deal would spell the end of the long-running comedy program, in part because of his recent criticism of Paramount and President Donald Trump. The 62-year-old comedian said he is not worried about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, unfortunately, we haven\u2019t heard anything from [Paramount or Skydance]. They haven\u2019t called me and said like, \u2018Don\u2019t get too comfortable in that office.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cLet me tell you something \u2014 I\u2019ve been kicked out of s\u2013ttier establishments than that. We\u2019ll land on our feet.\u201d <\/p>\n

Stewart added that he\u2019d \u201clike to believe\u201d that, if Skydance were looking at \u201cThe Daily Show\u201d from a business perspective, it would value the program. Only a few other shows, like \u201cSouth Park,\u201d are bringing attention to Comedy Central, he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf they\u2019re looking at it as as purely a real estate transaction, I think we bring a lot of value,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cThat may not be their consideration. They may sell the whole f\u2013king place for parts.\u201d<\/p>\n

His thoughts were shared with about five minutes to go in his latest podcast episode<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stewart has criticized Paramount for recently settling a lawsuit with Trump for $16 million <\/a>in order to help its merger with Skydance gain regulatory approval. The president had sued Paramount over a \u201c60 Minutes\u201d interview with Kamala Harris last year, which he said was deceptively edited, claiming the interview was \u201cfalse advertising and tampering\u201d and caused him \u201cmental anguish.\u201d<\/p>\n

On last week\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Daily Show,\u201d Stewart asked, \u201cWhy didn\u2019t [Paramount] fight it?\u201d He then joked to former \u201c60 Minutes\u201d reporter Steve Kroft \u2014 who called the settlement a \u201cshakedown\u201d \u2014 \u201cI\u2019m obviously not a lawyer, but I did watch \u2018Goodfellas.\u2019 That sounds illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n
