National Public Health Week begins Monday, and Los Angeles County officials will be hosting a series of events focused on community health and emergency preparedness.<\/p>\n
The observance runs through Sunday and is part of a nationwide effort highlighting the role of public health in improving community well-being. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cReady. Set. Action!\u201d<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will host events throughout the week addressing topics including emergency preparedness, children\u2019s health, small business support and worker protections.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe past year has been challenging, yet together, we have continued to advance health and well-being across our communities,\u201d Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we mark National Public Health Week, we uplift the dedication, skill, and commitment of everyone in our public health family. Every day, their efforts make a real difference, helping our communities thrive, stay safe, and secure resources needed for well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014 Monday, \u201cEmergency Preparedness: Be Prepared, Have a Plan, Take Action!\u201d 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rowland Heights Park, 1500 Ba\u00c3\u00b1ida Ave., Rowland Heights;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Tuesday, \u201cRewriting L.A. County\u2019s Story \u2014 Community Event,\u201d noon to 2 p.m., Pueblo y Salud Palmdale Office, 39130 Third St., East Palmdale;<\/p>\n
\u2014 Wednesday, Public Health in 2026: \u201cBuilding Healthy Communities & Sustaining the Safety Net,\u201d 5 to 7 p.m., Cal State Los Angeles, 5151 State University Drive;<\/p>\n

Officials said the events are designed to promote prevention, expand access to resources and support healthier, more resilient communities.<\/p>\n
