At a time when our community is facing many profound challenges, it is especially important we continue to create spaces filled with joy and camaraderie. This talk will take place in the Chapel of Saint Columba, home of the\u00a0Life of Christ\u00a0(1990), a bronze and white-gold triptych altarpiece, Haring\u2019s final work.\u00a0Tickets are\u00a0free\u00a0with reservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohndivine.org\/calendar\/57883\/the-fire-inside-a-conversation-with-dr-rima-vesely-flad-and-dean-winnie-varghese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>The Fire Inside: The Dharma of James Baldwin and Audre Lorde byDr. Rima Vesely-Flad<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0(Sunday, May 24)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Join the Cathedral for a conversation at 1 p.m. between the Very Reverend Winnie Varghese and Dr. Rima Vesely-Flad followed by a book signing at 2 p.m. Dr. Vesely-Flad\u2019s new book\u00a0The Fire Inside: The Dharma of James Baldwin and Audre Lorde\u00a0engages the voices of these two renowned Black, queer thinkers\/writers in discourse with Buddhist teachings and practices. It is also both part memoir, as Dr. Vesely-Flad describes the emotional process of connecting with her Black family roots, and part expressly political within a dharma context. Tickets are free with reservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohndivine.org\/calendar\/57892\/pride-eve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Pride Eve, Hosted by the Greedy Peasant<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0(Saturday, May 30) \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Pride Eve 2026 returns a day early and better than ever with expanded offerings, including an evening of crafts, color, and pageantry. The night will begin with cocktail hour at 6 p.m., inviting visitors to tour the Cathedral, mingle, and visit different craft stations, as well as enter a raffle to win a variety of prizes. Returning for the third year after two consecutive sold-out shows, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/greedy.peasant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Greedy Peasant<\/a>\u00a0will then take to the stage for a 45-minute performance culminating in the illumination of the Cathedral in its annual rainbow lights. All are welcome for this special occasion, with monochromatic fanciful dress encouraged. The suggested colors include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink. Tassels also implied. Tickets range from $45 to $100 and all proceeds go to keeping all other Iconic Pride events free for all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohndivine.org\/calendar\/57893\/pride-family-picnic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Pride Family Picnic<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0(Saturday, June 6) \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Cathedral Gardens will be open for all to enjoy. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic, play yard games, and spend an afternoon in community.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/queerbigapplecorps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Queer Big Apple Corps Marching Band<\/a>\u00a0will perform at 12 p.m. Following the performance, there will be a musical instrument petting zoo for a hands-on introduction to a variety of instruments. Tickets are free with reservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohndivine.org\/calendar\/57894\/pride-evensong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Pride Evensong<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0(Sunday, June 21) \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The Cathedral will host an Evensong service at 4 p.m. featuring LGBTQIA+ composers and performance by the Cathedral Community Choir. All are welcome to sing or just to listen. No tickets are necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohndivine.org\/calendar\/57895\/celebration-of-pauli-murray\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Celebration of Pauli Murray<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0(Wednesday, July 1) \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>In collaboration with the American LGBTQ+ Museum<strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>join the Cathedral at 6:30 p.m. in celebration of Pauli Murray on their Feast Day, July 1st.\u00a0Dean Winnie Varghese will be in discussion with Pauli Murray scholar and Associate Professor of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary, Sarah Azaransky;
