Security alarms at a company in Eagle Rock that drew complaints from neighbors<\/strong><\/a> have been turned off after some residents took matters into their own hands.<\/p>\n

Neighbors said the sounds were keeping them up at night as the system played a loud voice, telling people to stop trespassing on the property.<\/p>\n

“You are trespassing. Please leave the area,” said the voice from the mobile surveillance trailers, equipped with cameras and speakers.<\/p>\n

One neighbor told NBC Los Angeles that the entire neighborhood could hear the loud noise at 1 or 3 in the morning. A group of “sleep-deprived neighbors” in the area put together a petition to ask the business to turn off the alarm.<\/p>\n

“I know LA has a homeless problem. I understand, but at the same time, the people who live here, the people who have homes, are\u00a0being disturbed\u00a0every single night,” the community member, who did not want to be identified, said.<\/p>\n

The business that was initially at the center of the community uproar was the historic Sparkletts’ bottling plant on Lincoln Avenue. The company that owns the plant, Primo Brands, told NBCLA in a statement that the sound was coming from a nearby business.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“After several days of on-site review, our team has been working closely with a neighboring resident to investigate the noise concern,” the company said. “Based on this work, we have confirmed that the alarm sounds are not originating from our property. Instead, the alarm is coming from a business located across the street.”<\/p>\n
