[Photo: City of Fort Worth]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dogs and cats are good at two things: making us love them\u2026and making a break for it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When pets in Fort Worth get lost, now there\u2019s a place ready to help. Fort Worth Animal Care &amp; Control has launched its first-ever \u201cChip Spot\u201d\u00a0at\u00a0Winslow\u2019s Wine Cafe at 4101 Camp Bowie Blvd. The new community resource is designed to help quickly reunite lost pets with their families.<\/p>\n<p>Now when people in Fort Worth rescue a lost dog or cat, instead of driving to a vet or animal shelter they can visit Winslow\u2019s, where the staff has been equipped with a microchip scanner to help identify and reunite pets with their owners.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-233981\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Dog-Cat-_-the-golden-retriever-and-the-kitten.jpg_s1024x1024wisk20cAiHD3jfaoSnFW5OpYEdj5MFYK1r0qiIah.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"464\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-233981\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">[Photo: chendongshan\/istockphoto]<\/p>\n<p>Per the city, the process works like this:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Take the lost pet to Winslow\u2019s Cafe (4101 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76107).<\/li>\n<li>Scan the pet\u2019s microchip.<\/li>\n<li>Match the microchip ID number with the registered owner using the provided QR code posted on the cafe\u2019s window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The microchip reader was donated by Operation Kindness for this initiative, helping make this pilot location possible, the city said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-276975\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Fort-Worth-Chip-Spot-program.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"437\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-276975\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image: City of Fort Worth<\/p>\n<p>FWACC said its partnership with Winslow\u2019s Cafe is \u201cone more way we\u2019re working to keep pets safe and reduce the number of animals entering shelters unnecessarily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The city is looking to expand this program.
