Production Begins Fall 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Chevrolet will allegedly build a new seventh-generation Camaro. \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Camaro will share a platform with the next-generation Cadillac CT5. \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Production is expected to begin in fall 2027. \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Chevrolet Camaro is reportedly making a comeback. According to a new report, General Motors will build the new sports car on the same platform that will underpin the next-generation Cadillac CT5. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autonews.com\/general-motors\/an-buick-sedan-ct5-camaro-0407\/?_cl=A90hlt815kZgcZIaKaKNIXc0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Automotive News<\/a> reports that\u00a0&#8220;a source at a major GM supplier&#8221; told the publication that production for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/chevrolet\/camaro\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22chevrolet%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22camaro%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Camaro<\/a> and the CT5 will begin in fall 2027. The source also said the automaker will also allegedly build a new Buick sedan on the same architecture, a body style that the brand has not offered since 2020, which corroborates an earlier report. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/16x9-tr.png\" alt=\"Sixth-Generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1\" width=\"16\" height=\"9\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Sixth-Generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1<\/p>\n<p>There have been multiple rumors suggesting that GM is considering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/778332\/general-motors-plans-more-sedans\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22778332%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22general-motors-plans-more-sedans%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">building several sedan variants<\/a> on its next-generation CT5 platform, but the specifics have remained unclear. AN\u2019s source said the automaker plans to produce 60,000 to 70,000 CT5 and Camaro vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The automaker currently builds the Cadillac, alongside the CT4, at its Grand River Assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan. Production for the smaller offering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/776022\/next-generation-cadillac-ct5-combustion\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22776022%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22next-generation-cadillac-ct5-combustion%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ends in June<\/a>, and it\u2019s doubtful the factory can operate producing just one vehicle. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The sixth-generation Camaro died in 2023, with GM offering no direct replacement. In 2025, a report surfaced alleging that the automaker had dismissed a proposal to revive a seventh-generation model due to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/751032\/next-gen-camaro-plans-delayed\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22751032%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22next-gen-camaro-plans-delayed%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">weak business case<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It appears the automaker has a solid proposal for a new Camaro. It will likely share a lot of hardware with the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/cadillac\/ct5\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22cadillac%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22ct5%22%7D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CT5<\/a>, just like before. We hope to learn more soon about what could be a 2028 Camaro. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motor1\u2019s Take:<\/strong> The possibility of the Camaro\u2019s return is exciting, and we hope it is true. Sports cars don&#8217;t sell well, but if GM can spread the costs across several models, like a sedan from Cadillac and maybe Buick, it makes a seventh-generation Camaro possible.
