Netflix<\/a> is expanding its presence in Argentina, opening new offices in the nation\u2019s capital to support a raft of local productions as the streamer continues to bolster its presence in Latin America.<\/p>\n

Netflix<\/a> announced it had opened a new 20,000-square-foot office in Buenos Aires to accommodate 40 employees and a range of upcoming local film and TV projects. Netflix began making local content in the country in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cArgentina has become a key player in our regional strategy thanks to its audiovisual heritage, creative prowess, and ability to tell local stories whose significance and impact make them universal,\u201d said Francisco Ramos, vice president of content for Netflix Latin America, in a statement.<\/p>\n

The announcement marks the latest expansion in Latin America for Netflix, which opened new offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil <\/a>and Mexico City <\/a>earlier this year. <\/p>\n

The newly-announced Netflix<\/a> Argentinia projects include several series, films and documentaries, set to released this year or early 2027, that \u201cserve as a mirror of local culture and resonate with the Argentinian spirit,\u201d the company said in its statement.<\/p>\n

They include an animated series based on the popular \u201cMafalda\u201d comics, a dystopian miniseries based on a Philip K. Dick novel and a Fito P\u00e1ez documentary.<\/p>\n

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Santiago Mitre\u2019s new political thriller started filming last month in Argentina. Also in the works is a film adaptation of the acclaimed play \u201cFelicidades.\u201d <\/p>\n

Netflix<\/a> said that its \u201cdedication to Argentinian cinema\u201d is driven largely by new stories led by prominent local figures, \u201cboth in front of and behind the camera.\u201d <\/p>\n

At an event last month, Netflix executives emphasized the importance of original storytelling.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Los Gatos-based company reaches nearly a billion viewers in more than 190 countries and in 50 languages. <\/p>\n

As a global service<\/a>, local language content has remained a key priority for Netflix. In the second half of 2025, nearly a third of everything watched was for non-English stories.<\/p>\n

Netflix also supports subtitles and dubbing in over 30 languages . Some of its most popular local language content includes Korea\u2019s \u201cSquid Game,\u201d Norway\u2019s \u201cTroll\u201d and Spain\u2019s \u201cMoney Heist.\u201d<\/p>\n
