SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 The June 12 floods in San Antonio left Cristine Gonzalez\u2019s<\/a> fianc\u00e9 and daughter mourning her loss.<\/p>\n

Justin Kellman told KSAT that he was engaged to Gonzalez, 29. <\/p>\n

She was a twin, a member of the Army Reserves and had most recently become a mother to her and Kellman\u2019s eight-month-old daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve pretty much known each other since we were kids,\u201d Kellman said.<\/p>\n

Kellman remembers playing baseball with Gonzalez when they were nine years old. He said they both went away to live their lives and found their way back to each other as adults.<\/p>\n

However, their lives changed on June 12.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer mother called me, and I knew something was wrong immediately,\u201d Kellman said. \u201cI checked her location, and it was in the same spot for an hour and 20 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

For more than an hour, Gonzalez\u2019s location showed her near Loop 410 and Perrin Beitel as floodwaters continued to pull cars away from the road. <\/p>\n

The flood on San Antonio\u2019s Northeast Side took 13 lives, including Gonzalez\u2019s. She was found at the Perrin Beitel and Loop 410 area, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been tough,\u201d Kellman said. \u201cShe was selfless, caring, nurturing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the days following the flooding, Kellman has been able to lean on family, friends, and neighbors. However, raising his daughter without her mother has been a challenge he couldn\u2019t know was coming.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Our daughter] decided that she wanted to start saying \u2018mama\u2019 now, so she\u2019s starting to mumble that out,\u201d Kellman said.<\/p>\n

Kellman shares the following message with the public:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a genuine soul, a genuine person, genuine love,\u201d Kellman said.<\/p>\n

Kellman then shared this message with his late fianc\u00e9:<\/p>\n

\u201cI love you,\u201d Kellman said. \u201cI miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n
