Credit: X\/@byadavbjp\n                                      <\/p>\n<p>Four cubs have been born to an India-born cheetah in Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav said on Saturday (April 11, 2026). The fresh litter takes India\u2019s total population of cheetahs to 57.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Yadav also said that this is the first recorded cheetah birth in the open forest since India\u2019s reintroduction programme for the big cat species, Project Cheetah, was launched in 2022, as all previous births have taken place inside Kuno\u2019s large-ranging enclosures.
