Trees and poles down, roads flooded by storms that hit Central New York l<\/p>\n

Clark Mills, N.Y. \u2014 A tornado that spun out of a line of severe thunderstorms killed three people<\/a> early Sunday in a Central New York hamlet, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

The tornado was about as wide as a football field. It had estimated peak winds of 105 mph, making it an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, which ranks tornadoes from EF-0 to EF-5. That\u2019s as strong as a Category 2 hurricane.<\/p>\n
