A man in a wheelchair died after he was hit by a car near 24th Street and Roosevelt Street, according to police.<\/p>\n
RELATED: Plane makes emergency landing on busy central Phoenix road<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Authorities said the crash happened on April 9 around 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n When police got to the scene, they found the man with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital and died on April 11.<\/p>\n Police said the man was in the roadway and may have been impaired when he was hit. The driver of the car tried to avoid the man but could not.<\/p>\n The driver stayed on scene and showed no signs of impairment, authorities said.<\/p>\n Police have not released the identity of the man.<\/p>\n >> This story will be updated as additional information becomes available.
