East Virginia Street improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project: <\/strong>East Virginia Street between Murray Street and Airport Drive will be reconstructed in <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/mckinney\/transportation\/2026\/04\/10\/virginia-parkway-reconstruction-see-updates-for-6-transportation-projects-in-mckinney\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">McKinney<\/a>. The project will include a new alignment and connection to Airport Drive and a new roundabout at the intersection of Virginia Street and Lively Hill Lane. There will also be waterline, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, illumination, hardscape and landscape improvements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong>Design is 90% complete, and officials expect to bid the project in late 2026.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline: <\/strong>late 2026-late 2028<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$15 million<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source: <\/strong>city of McKinney<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Infrastructure improvements along Tennessee, Lamar, and Hunt streets<\/p>\n<p>Project<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>: Work includes the reconstruction of Tennessee Street between Virginia and Lamar streets, Lamar Street between Church Street and SH 5, and Hunt Street between Kentucky Street and SH 5 in McKinney. The project will also have water line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, illumination, hardscape and landscape improvements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong>Design is 90% complete, and officials expect to bid the project in fall 2026.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline: <\/strong>late 2026-late 2028<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$16 million<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source:<\/strong> city of McKinney<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dallas County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Lakeside Boulevard reconstruction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project: <\/strong>Crews are reconstructing the street and implementing utility improvements on Lakeside Boulevard from US 75 to Campbell Road, and Lawnview Drive from Lakeside to Greenville Avenue in <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/richardson\/transportation\/2026\/04\/06\/see-updates-on-3-ongoing-richardson-road-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Richardson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong>Installation of the water line sewers from the roundabout to Campbell is currently underway, along with work in the Lawnview median.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline:<\/strong> winter 2024-spring 2026<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$10 million<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source:<\/strong> city of Richardson<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tarrant County<\/p>\n<p>4. South Elm Street reconstruction<\/p>\n<p>Project: <\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Work includes widening and reconstructing the road, improving utilities and drainage, and adding parking, sidewalks, seating, landscaping, lighting and wayfinding signage in <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/keller-roanoke-northeast-fort-worth\/transportation\/2026\/04\/02\/see-7-road-project-updates-in-keller-roanoke-northeast-fort-worth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Keller<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong>The demolition of Elm Street&#8217;s bridge was postponed from its original February start date due to utility issues and is estimated to take place in the summer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline: <\/strong>expected completion by summer 2028<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $28.01 million<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding sources: <\/strong>city of Keller, Tarrant County<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5. <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/grapevine-colleyville-southlake\/transportation\/2026\/04\/10\/colleyville-officials-approve-additional-47k-for-cheek-sparger-bedford-road-roundabout-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cheek-Sparger, Bedford Road roundabout<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Project: <\/p>\n<p><\/strong>The project will add a single-lane roundabout at the Cheek-Sparger and Bedford Road intersection and relocate 500 feet of water line within the roundabout in Colleyville.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong>Colleyville City Council approved the relocation of the water line to be added to the project at the April 7 meeting, which increased the project\u2019s design cost by $47,000.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timeline: <\/strong>The project will go out to bid for a construction company later this year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$199,000 for designs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding source: <\/strong>city of Colleyville<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Stay informed on what road projects are happening or coming up around Dallas-Fort Worth.
