Grace Springer via Storyful<\/p>\n<p>The faux statement quickly gained traction online.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Byron nor Kristin Cabot, the company\u2019s chief human resources officer, have spoken publicly about the Coldplay scandal \u2013 when <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/17\/us-news\/couple-caught-on-kiss-cam-at-coldplay-concert-dodges-out-of-sight-as-chris-martin-wonders-if-theyre-having-an-affair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">they were caught in a loving embrace<\/a> on the concert \u201ckiss cam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Byron quite literally ducked out of frame while Cabot covered her face and turned around, putting her back toward the camera.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Martin, the band\u2019s frontman, initially thought the camera had found a sweet moment, saying: \u201cLook at these two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But their panicked reaction soon had him speculating on a much less savory situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, what?\u201d Martin can be heard saying on stage in a TikTok video that has racked up more than 50 million views and over 5 million likes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEither they\u2019re having an affair or they\u2019re just very shy,\u201d Martin quipped.<\/p>\n<p>The faux statement posted late Thursday quickly gained traction on social media, with many users tearing into the fake Byron.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent,\u201d the forged statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else\u2019s life into a spectacle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andy Byron ducked down while Kristin Cabot turned her back toward the camera. Astronomer<\/p>\n<p>A social media user on X pointed out fishy behavior from the account that posted the so-called statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2018statement from Astronomer CEO Andy Byron\u2019 that\u2019s going around originated with a 50-follower account called \u2018Peter Enis.\u2019 As in \u2018P.
