Mandurah Forum\u2019s indoor food court will close by the end of the month, with British retailer TK Maxx tipped to take its place.<\/p>\n

Forum management have refused to comment on the new tenant, which is expected to open a store in October, but have confirmed it will \u201cintroduce a new international retailer\u201d to the building.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson from forum management Vicinity Centres confirmed the food court closure, saying it was part of the centre\u2019s \u201clong\u2011term strategy to evolve the centre and enhance the customer experience\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project will introduce a new international retailer and a new communal seating area near Woolworths, creating a welcoming space for the community and supporting a diverse retail mix,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

Social media have long speculated the new arrival will be cut-price retailer TK Maxx. PerthNow has contacted TK Maxx for comment but it has yet to address the rumours.<\/p>\n

The centre plans to move an outdoor playground adjoining the food court but formal plans have not been finalised yet.<\/p>\n

The alfresco dining area is also undergoing a transformation, with the current water feature to be removed, making way for more seating and a kids zone.<\/p>\n

These works are expected to be complete in June with the current outdoor retailers continuing trade throughout its construction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe centre will remain open and trading throughout the works, with a focus on ensuring customers can continue to enjoy their visit while these improvements are delivered,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe upgrades reflect the centre\u2019s ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming, family\u2011friendly destination for Mandurah.\u201d<\/p>\n

The centre spokesperson said retailers who were directly impacted by the reconfiguration were engaged with and given the opportunity to relocate.<\/p>\n
