Manchester United have wanted to bolster the goalkeeping position this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After Andre Onana<\/a> had a disappointing campaign between the sticks, fans are keen to see change in the position.<\/p>\n

However, selling Onana looked like a difficult task for Manchester United<\/a> with no clubs putting their hands up with interest in the opening weeks of the transfer window.<\/p>\n

Onana has stated a desire to remain at Old Trafford<\/a> beyond this summer and due to that the prospect of signing a big money replacement was instantly wiped off the table.<\/p>\n

Edwin van der Sar has backed Onana to improve<\/a> next season, urging Ruben Amorim to stick with the former Ajax goalkeeper and this looked likely to be the case.<\/p>\n

Despite returning to Carrington for training, Onana has picked up an injury<\/a> to keep him out of pre-season. Which has ignited the search for a goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

With a goalkeeper now becoming a priority, United are pushing forward to sign Senne Lammens<\/a>, as United in Focus<\/strong> exclusively revealed, with the 23-year-old a long term target, having been linked for much of this year.<\/p>\n

Back in February, Lammens spoke about moving to United<\/a> and admitted he would be very interested in the chances of this move.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time I heard it, I thought: wow, Immediately a world team that follows you. That is special,\u201d said Lammens.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I was also spoken to about it a lot and when I made a save in training, it was United this, United that. Funny, I would do it the other way around too. But you can\u2019t dwell on it for too long. They are still just rumours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lammens was first linked in December<\/a> and has long been considered a second choice goalkeeper who would seriously push Onana for his place as the starter.<\/p>\n

Lammens has potential to be one of Europe\u2019s best goalkeepers<\/p>\n

Onana has far from nailed down a place in the starting line-up under Amorim, which even saw Altay Bayindir<\/a> threaten to displace the Cameroonian.<\/p>\n

So with the possible arrival of Lammens, Onana would absolutely have to up his game. The Belgian goalkeeper is seen as the best in his country, and the stats from SofaScore<\/a> prove that he could soon be the best in Europe.<\/p>\n

Lammens is seen as a \u2018baby Courtois\u2019<\/a>, which is an exciting prediction.<\/p>\n

Last season, Lammens led the Belgian Pro League for saves (127) and also the highest save percentage (81.4%) out of all other goalkeepers.<\/p>\n
