At the corner of 2300 Jackson Street in Gary, Indiana, <\/strong>you\u2019ll often find at least a dozen people stopping their cars to take pictures\u2014even Prince and Jaafar Jackson have recently visited.<\/p>\n

More than 50 years have passed since the Jackson family last lived here, yet his site continues to attract visitors from around the world <\/strong>who come to see where the King of Pop got his start.<\/p>\n

The 672-square-foot bungalow was the family\u2019s home from 1950 until they moved to Los Angeles <\/strong>in 1969 after signing with Motown.<\/p>\n

Although the house is currently unoccupied, it remains owned by the Jackson family <\/strong>and holds early memories of Michael, where he and his siblings developed their musical talents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They performed in competitions at Roosevelt High School, won a talent search at Gilroy Stadium, and secured their first regular paid gig<\/strong> at Mr. Lucky\u2019s on the 1100 block of Grant Street.<\/p>\n

From their performances at Mr. Lucky\u2019s, they would soon become the Jackson 5. Michael Jackson would go on to perform on the biggest stages worldwide,<\/strong> selling millions of records and becoming one of the most famous musicians of all time.<\/p>\n
