{"id":73147,"date":"2025-07-18T16:57:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T16:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/73147\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T16:57:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T16:57:09","slug":"houston-man-admits-role-in-motel-fentanyl-overdose-linked-to-drug-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/73147\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston man admits role in motel fentanyl overdose linked to drug network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jail Bars Gavel Prison Courts Crime Justice (KPRC2\/Click2Houston.com)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">A 36-year-old man has pleaded guilty to federal charges after authorities say he distributed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/topic\/Fentanyl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/topic\/Fentanyl\/\">fentanyl<\/a> from a North Harris County motel room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Velasquez-Nikki Saadia Porter admitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/topic\/Fentanyl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/topic\/Fentanyl\/\">conspiring to distribute nearly 200 grams of fentanyl<\/a>, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Southern District of Texas.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The case began in 2023 when investigators linked Porter to a local drug operation connected to fentanyl overdoses in the Houston area. Prosecutors say he was running a distribution point out of a motel room, where he sold the drug to customers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Porter remains in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 2.
