{"id":732484,"date":"2026-04-16T16:35:55","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T16:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/732484\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T16:35:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T16:35:55","slug":"interstate-17-fatality-driver-struck-after-crashing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/732484\/","title":{"rendered":"Interstate 17 fatality: Driver struck after crashing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2013 A driver was struck and killed by passing traffic after he crashed on Interstate 17 in north Phoenix and exited his vehicle early Thursday, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The northbound lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours in the aftermath of the deadly incident.<\/p>\n<p>A driver in his 60s initially struck a median wall <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/FeQRxF4U6UUVa1xU8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">near Yorkshire Drive<\/a> in a single-vehicle collision around 3:30 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n<p>He then got out and was hit by another vehicle after he walked into the traffic lanes, DPS said.
